What Now?

Finishing (actually starting) this script has been left off of (for the time being) my goals for BSFA. If I finish my novel really early then I might make a stab at this. Otherwise, I will attempt to write it again for Script Frenzy 2008.

Maybe

Haven't done any writing this summer, sorry just haven't been in the right frame of mind. Hopefully will get it done this fall, not making any promises though.

Procrastination

Have had quite a bit of time for writing but it's just not happening, so I'll be finishing the dratted thing in August/September just for a bit of a mid summer update.

Here and There

I have some internet here though its very slow and I don't have great oppertunity to use it. The same can be said for my oppertunities to write. At the moment I'm concentrating on getting to know the other girls and to figure out myself here so you won't see much action from me. But keep watch, I have some time off and not much at the moment to do.

Too Late

It's 10:30 the night before I'm supposed to leave for two months working in Maine. I'm not packed, I'm going crazy and I haven't written anything this week. So that little pact I made, too late to worry about it now. I have decided to take my computer along with me so hopefully I will find some time to write, I'm not sure how much. You may even get an update from me at some point during the summer.

Watch this blog.

Poetry in Motion

No play writing today, sorry and there is no change since yesterday. I did however manage to write a poem while out on a bike ride which I'm quite pleased with seeing as I haven't written anything since November. Posted to Absynthe Muse which is back online so I'll see how my adoring public *ehm* critique-ers recieve it.

Act I, Scene I

I've written act one scene one, seems alright, if I ever want to do anything with this thing I'm going to have to edit it like crazy. First things first though, actually write the thing. I'm having alittle trouble moving on the the second scene so I think I'm going to leave it for a little bit and come back latter today.

Am feeling a bit peeved about being dragged out though after my eye appointment and probably losing out on the auction I've been bidding on for days on Howrse, god my life is pathetic.

Time for a Change

Got my marks today, not as good as I would have liked but I'm not going to talk about it here. Anyhow, the point of that was that I need to finally stop being lazy, I know that its not going to be easy and it's a large part of who I am, not really doing the work but coasting by only on my smarts. This needs to stop and this project is going to be a good way to start on that long road of change. Therefore I want to have the first act of my play finished by thw time I leave next week. Here's to change... and writing.

Not Working

I've been bad. I guess that the knowledge that I'm not actually going to win this thing is keeping me from actually working at it. Either that or I lack proper motivation, probably due to the earlier cause. The listlessness I'm feeling could be another sympton. Blah.

a little of this and a little of that

Well, I"m home safe and sound. Saturday was without a doubt a very very long day. I did however get quite a bit of work done on the plotting of the first act. It will open with the Prince, King and Queen planning the ball and then move to Cinderella and finally to Robin with a bit of a twist. I have a basic outline for what should happen in the second act and have some ideas about what will happen in the third. I'm playing with some ideas, like should the Fairy Godmother be magical, and the role of other characters in the story. I'm a bit afraid of giving the Princess too big of a role, though I"m leaning on the idea of the Prince falling for Robin in the third act maybe and the Princess having to wade in and save the day. Maybe she should be my heroine instead of Cinders. Ack, too many thoughts in my head.

Still not sure about how and when I'm going to write this. I can take a computer with me, but I'm not sure if I want to . It might be better to start writing now, well on Friday and write as much as I can and then finish in August. I'm still a bit worried about the whole formating and everything though I have downloaded celtx so I should be fine.

I've been and will probably be a bit preoccupied with the purges going on at the moment over at livejournal, we're all holding our breath waiting for their next move. Hopefully it will be resolved soon so that I can think and write without other "stuff" on my mind.

I'm Brilliant, no really.

Haven't really been the writing mode lately. Finished exams on Wednesday and am now packing up my life to head back to the States for the summer tomorrow. I plan on doing some work during the trip. I have hit on a hilarious plot twist, where maybe the Prince can fall in love with Robin Hood as well. Could make for an interesting resolution and stop the need for the Prince and Cinderella to live happily ever after.

Kink in the plans

So I just got off the phone with the camp where I will be working from the middle of June to the middle of August. Not very conductive to rapid fire script writing. I'm not sure what I'm really going to do about it. I might start writing on June 1st and write till the 10th or 16th when I leave, and then finish the rest in the two weeks of August when I get back. Or I might write it by hand when I'm away.

Either way, I'm not going to win the Frenzy, but hopefully I can still finish my script.

I have a Plotline!

Showers are always good for inspiration. Okay so here it is. Two characters we know and love, Robin Hood and Cinderella but with a twist. Both hatching plans to end up at the ball, Cinderella to catch the prince's eye and Robin Hood to kidnap and ransom a visiting princess. They meet and mistaking each other for the people they're hoping to meet. They dance, Robin woos and Cinderella flutters. Midnight hits and Cinderella dashes away and Robin is left with no one to ransom. Love ensues. I think. Its needs more work obvisously but its a good start and I think it could be very funny, can be a bit vague, doesn't need much explanation because we already know the characters and the plot line to some extent.

It will be called The Tale of Robin Hood and... Cinderella?.

Am I supposed to have ANY idea?

No idea where to start or where to go from there if I do get a spark of inspirationg. Everything seems to contrived or like someone else has already done it. I feel like I need something simple as I can't go into my usual level of detail as I said yesterday. A simple love story about leading two lives on two continents prehaps. Hmm...that actually doesn't sound half bad. The culture shock type thing that always seems to work. Okay going to go think about this one.

Taking It by Storm

I have offically been swept up in the craze, I couldn't resist and I'm not sure I even wanted to. NaNoWriMo has never been especially successfull for me so I thought I would give this a try and see if I am any good at it. Thought that this could be a fun way to track me adventure through the wacky and wild world of scriptwriting.

Now just to find a plot. Seeing as when I woke up this morning I had no intention of spending the month of June writing a screen/stage play I have no idea where to even start. Its so different than building a story for a novel, you need a lot less detail because ultimately the story will be told how the director or actors feel it should be told. I'm thinking romantic comedy, or maybe romantic drama, or costume drama. I don't really have enough time to research for a costume drama though. I need something to procrastinate about anyhow, here's to script writing.
